Mexico 2007 - Day 9 - Bioparque Estrella
Day 10 - Monterrey & Chipinque
We drove north towards Monterrey and stopped at Bioparque Estrella, a place that allowed people to drive their vehicles through a landscape similar to the African plains, complete with African wildlife.
If we wern't careful the camels would stick their heads into the car.
He's wants to stick his head in the car.
After visiting the animals we drove a little further to a hotel overlooking the surrounding area to have lunch.
Gabriel and the rest of us watched as a young Mexican woman got thrown around like a rag doll on the bungee cord.
After spending the night in downtown Monterrey, I took off for the mountains above the city.  Kerry, Pascal and Gabriel stayed behind downtown.  The plan was to meet up for a bullfight later in the day.
As I climbed above the city I realized the photographic conditions could be epic.
I took the trail towards El Pinal, a mountain peak in the Chipinque park, part of Mexico's largets national park.
Conditions became unearthly.
I didn't think I would make it to the top of the mountain peak because I was stopping to shoot pictures every minute.
Monterrey is visible through the mist below...
Right: My newest gallery worthy image.
Eventually the mist began to clear and I arose to a high point between the peaks.
At the top of El Pinal looking down at Monterrey, city of mountains.

I ended up spending too much time in the mountains and wasn't able to meet the others for the bullfight, which I wasn't sad to miss.  I watched about 10 minutes of a bullfight later that day in the hotel room and it was a bit nauseating.

The others showed up after the fight and we flew home the next day.
